Yesterday The Pokémon Company International at last launched the Pokémon TCG Online app for the iPad here in the States. This free app offers a similar experience to the previous PC/Mac client — including online PvP as well as solo play, deck-building, card trading and avatar customization — and even retains the player’s digital card collection and game progress across devices.
But fear not, newbies: all Pokémon TCG Online players receive digital starter decks, and additional cards can be earned through battling. Better yet, physical theme decks, booster packs and other specialty products include unique code cards that can be used to unlock even more digital content.
For the time being the Pokémon TCG Online app is only available for iPad and iPad Mini devices, but odds are an Android version will follow shortly.
