Today’s Google Doodle celebrates Dr. Jonas Salk, who developed the inactivated polio vaccine. You know that moment in Pandemic when you get the blue cure and then clear out all the blue virus from North America? That’s pretty much what Salk did, which is why today we hardly have to think about polio, with only a few spots around the world where it is still endemic.
