Make Playtime More Accessible With Rory’s Story Cubes MAX

I’ve long since been a fan of Rory’s Story Cubes, and have reviewed most of the sets, including the original, Actions, Voyages, and smaller bonus packs. Now I’ve managed to get my hands on Rory’s Story Cubes MAX, a version of the original set of nine dice, except the dice are huge.

First of all, the box is about four times the size of a usual Rory’s Story Cubes box. There is plenty of room inside to roll the dice, or to contain the MAX dice and several other sets of Cubes. If you have other sets of MAX, this box will hold 24 of them. The box closes with a magnetic closure and includes basic instructions on the inside.

Who is Rory’s Story Cubes MAX for? It’s for anyone who would prefer to use larger dice. More specifically, they are perfect for those with lower eyesight or lower dexterity (including very young children who might put regular dice in their mouths), for larger groups or classrooms, for those who want to project the dice onto a screen, or to combine with regular-sized Cubes where the MAX cubes are the main points to a story and the regularly sized ones are minor points. Or any other way your imagination works them in.

There are countless ways to play with the different sets of Rory’s Story Cubes. The website for Rory’s Story Cubes demonstrates many of them. One of the beauties of this game is that you can play it by yourself or in groups of any size. Use the dice for problem solving, creative thinking, inspiration for writing or projects, as a competitive game, learning foreign languages (or brushing up on your native language), and more. Rory’s Story Cubes MAX retails for $19.99. I recommend it to anyone who would prefer their storytelling inspiration cubes to come in a larger size, for whatever reason. The regular-sized cube versions retail for $9.99. These toys are extremely durable, and will last a lifetime.
