As part of the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty, Sanrio is holding the first ever Hello Kitty Con this fall in Los Angeles. Hello Kitty has a plethora of fans from all walks of life—adult, child, male, and female—who will now be scrambling for tickets.

I first started adoring the cute cat when I was a child and discovered the Hello Kitty store at my local mall. Then it sort of fell off my radar for two or three decades. Sanrio’s current huge popularity has, of course, given me much more opportunity to appreciate the Hello Kitty merchandise, along with all of the other characters such as Dear Daniel, Chococat, Pochacco, Keroppi, and more. I assume the full line of Sanrio characters will be represented at the con.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it, but for long-time Sanrio fans, this con will be quite an opportunity. There will be activities for all ages, and children are free or discounted, depending on age. Check out their website, which has information about the con, transportation, tickets, and an FAQ!
