GeekDad Puzzle of the Week Solution – Twelve Pixel Profiles

Geek Culture

Here is this past week’s puzzle, with the answers listed inline:

With Free Comic Book Day in the rear-view mirror and having run into a true “comic book geek” in my professional life, my brain has definitely been thinking about superheroes of all kinds — and from both major publishers. What better topic for a GeekDad Puzzle of the Week?

In the twenty 12-pixel representations of reasonably well known (and at least one or two not as well known) superheroes seen below, I have tried to capture the iconic color scheme of each. This week’s puzzle is to send in the name of each hero as well as their alter ego / secret identity, if known.

NOTE: The above set of heroes are the ones I had in mind when designing the puzzle; there were many creative substitutions, and anything reasonably close was accepted. If you don’t recognize a name, please feel free to use your favorite search engine to learn about a new hero!

Congratulations to Robert Chambers for correctly identifying a large number of the heroes and their alter egos, and for being selected in the random drawing of all correct responses. A $50 Gift Certificate from our proud sponsors at ThinkGeek will soon be on its way!

Thanks to everyone that submitted a solution. Happy puzzling!
