Longtime friends of GeekDad, ArcAttack, attended the Liberty Science Center’s recent Gala alongside geeky greats like Bill Nye and Dean Kamen. My sources say they stuck Bill Nye in the Faraday cage, but there’s no video evidence of that fact yet. If anyone finds a video, hit me up with a link and I’ll post it.

The Wall Street Journal did a nice write-up of the Gala, and despite featuring three photos of ArcAttack, they fail to mention the Tesla Coils or the new permanent installation of coils commissioned from ArcAttack along with a robot drummer, Percussibot, from Craig Newswanger of Resonance Studio. The coils were made possible in part by a donation from David Blaine following the crazy stunt he did back in 2012.

You can read a bit more about the event at The Wall Street Journal, Craig’s blog post, and on ArcAttack’s Facebook page.

If you’re in The Bay Area for Maker Faire this coming weekend, be sure to check out ArcAttack’s show. They never fail to impress and continually grow their technology and show in ways I never anticipate.

Sadly, I had to choose between Dallas Comic Con and Maker Faire this year and DCC won out, because Stan Lee.
