Doozers, a new kids’ show focusing on how to make and invent things, premieres today on Hulu Plus. To celebrate, GeekMom is offering readers a chance to win a free Hulu Plus subscription to watch this and other original content on the Hulu Plus platform.

Doozers is the first Hulu original series made especially for kids. Aimed at preschoolers, the CGI animated series comes from The Jim Henson Company (Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid) and DHX Media (Yo Gabba Gabba, SuperWHY!). What should be most interesting to geeky parents is the show’s focus on science, namely about making and creating things. You can see a clip of the four little makers below. I’m also pleased to see they’ve included two female lead characters.

According to a  press release by DHX and The Jim Henson Company: “Dubbed ‘the Pod Squad,’ Spike, Molly Bolt, Flex, and Daisy Wheel engage in exciting projects to DESIGN, CREATE, and INNOVATE. These Doozers are DOERS—they put their ideas into action!”

The show will be exclusively available to Hulu Plus subscribers—and you can be one of them.

  1. Hmmm, favorite kid science show? Magic School Bus comes to mind. My 3yo was bingeing on it for a while. I used to watch Mythbusters with my nephew. And I sometimes watched 321 Contact when I was a kid.

  2. When I was growing up, it was probably 3-2-1 Contact! Now, I’m not too sure. My daughter did enjoy Magic School Bus, but it was WAY overplayed at her school instead of actual education.

  3. Favorite kid’s science show? Mr. Wizard from when I was a kid. My girls like the science on Sesame Street…they are still a little young and don’t really show interest in other science shows.

  4. I have to put my vote in for Magic Schoolbus also. I have all the DVD’s and have watched them with all my nephews and niece. It has been something we still watch even though they are all older teens.

  5. My little one hasn’t gotten into science shows yet. I loved Fraggle Rock as a kid and use the pbs kids app now.

  6. In the UK there was an amazing art show for kids called Hartbeat, presented by Tony Hart. It definitely inspired my creativity.
