Brohoof for a Good Cause : The Morones Recovery Fund

Ramonies

Much has been made of the fierce and growing legion of male fans of the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and, while this is a largely adult following, there are still a number of younger bronies among the ranks. Sadly, one such fan, 11-year-old Michael Morones of North Carolina, recently tried to take his own life as the result of bullying centered on his love of the property.

Though the suicide was caught and halted, Michael suffered brain damage as the result of the attempt. In an effort to help his family shoulder the sizable medical debt, a recovery fund was set up in his name.

Supporters of all fandoms are encouraged contribute and share their well-wishes with Michael’s family via GoFundMe, and bronies in particular will likely want to check out this specialty design from Louisiana’s daily shirt site Tee Villain. It’s a Ramones-inspired tee, and proceeds from its sale will benefit the  Michael Morones Recovery Fund.
