The Twig Gets an Update: Meet the Torso

Electronics Kickstarter

I’ve known Jason Hilbourne for many years, and have always been impressed with his simple yet functional designs. I’ve also invested in most of his Kickstarter campaigns, and enjoying all of the products I’ve received. This new campaign, the Torso, is an updated version of one of hist first, the Twig.

Unlike the Twig, which was 30 pin iDevices only, the Torso comes in two formats, Lightning, and Micro USB. Like the twig it is still a small compact charging cable that doubles as a tabletop tripod or kickstand. Jason sent me a production sample for my iPod and it works very well. My Note 2 looks a little silly perched on top of the tripod, but it works, and doesn’t appear to put any more force on the connector than the act of plugging it in does.

I’ve been using mine for a week now and really like it. It connects nicely to my USB hub and when bent right holds my phone in landscape mode firmly enough to use with one hand.
