Hammerhead looks like a cool project. In a nutshell, it’s a navigation aid for bicycling, but with the app and social aspects it could be much more. Pick a destination and a route and the Hammerhead takes over. The LEDs indicate the distance and direction of each upcoming turn with intuitive cues.
The project is up on a new crowd funding site called Dragon Innovation. It seems legit, with some big name partners and at least one success story. A bit of searching Google shows mixed opinions on the site, and the services they provide. Time will tell, but I feel it’s no more risky, or safe, than Kickstarter.
