While I am usually impressed with the skills of the builders on LEGO Cuusoo, this one has E.T. in it! A heartwarming set based on the friendliest movie alien from my childhood would automatically get my vote. This one is also complex and well-thought out with multiple individual items able to tell the whole E.T. story.
The designer, TJ Spenser, recreated Elliot’s house to include the toy closet for hiding extra-terrestrials and the plasticine E.T. uses to explain his otherworldly origins. The garden shed is recreated along with the iconic Reese’s Pieces. The medical van with mobile cryo chamber doesn’t have the plastic tube (darn!) but it will pull a wall off the house (acceptable compromise).
The set includes Includes 5 minifigures: E.T., Elliot, Gertie, Michael, and a medical unit officer. The detail in the accessories really get me: Elliot’s BMX bike, a Speak ‘n’ Spell with E.T.’s homemade communications antenna, and Gertie’s Radio Flyer wagon (how adorable).
