Cool Airplanes! And Other Art!
When I was a kid, I had a few little metal airplanes that I played with, along with my very few Matchbox cars. They were heavy, and really added to my playtime. The Smithsonian has acquired some art which is on exhibit, including a really neat photo of a bunch of airplanes, that reminds me of those planes. Mixing Cultural Dishes Isn’t a New Concept
Combining foods of different origins isn’t anything new. Cultures have been doing it for centuries. It makes sense. As soon as people travel any distance, they become influenced by what they see and hear (and eat). They would bring these new ideas home with them and combine them with what they already knew. I’ve always known that I’ve smelled certain kinds of foods differently from others. I always figured that people couldn’t possibly enjoy eggs or broccoli if their sense of smell was the same as mine. This article from Science Daily validates that, and looks at the genetic differences among people with different senses of smell.
