Goal Zero Solar Charging Kit Giveaway!

Goal Zero Switch 8 Solar Charging Kit Photo: Goal Zero

Remember the amazing solar charger I told you about a few weeks ago? The one I use every single day, because it’s the most user friendly solar charging option I’ve ever seen? Well it’s your turn to own one.

This is the exact same kit I have and it’s a breeze to use when you want to use the sun to keep your electronics powered up. It’s smaller than the average laptop and comes with a recharger stick that stores your power. Going camping in the next few months? Going on a road trip? Or maybe just hanging out at the local pool with the kids? Summer is the perfect time to break in your new solar charger.

To enter our giveaway just login to the Rafflecopter widget below with your Facebook account or email address (use a valid email so we can let you know if you win). You can then like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for up to two entries! If you already like/follow us it will still enter you in the giveaway.

A winner will be chosen at random at the end of the contest and their name will be posted right in the Rafflecopter widget so you can check back to see who won. Contest open to shipping addresses in the Continental US only.

  1. I’m just commenting to voice my objection to having to “like” a bunch of stuff on my Facebook account just to be able to participate in a giveaway. I don’t want to clutter up my Facebook and my Twitter accounts with a bunch of advertising. I also don’t want to give those companies access to my personal information through those accounts. I love following GeekMom in my RSS reader, and I was so thrilled to learn about the solar charger. But I’m not thrilled about the increasing requirement of having to give away my personal information just to participate in blog giveaways. (It’s not just GeekMom, but a lot of other blogs are doing the same thing.)

  2. That’s the whole point of a giveaway, to get more followers, likes, etc. – so just don’t enter. TNSTAAFL

  3. Kim,

If you don’t like giving away your personal information to enter these giveaways, there is a simple solution – don’t enter the giveaways. There’s no such thing as a free lunch.

  4. I see you missed my point. Perhaps I was not clear. I was going to write a longer explanation of my point but, you know what, forget it. I can see that my objection should have been privately addressed to the author of the blog post rather than made in a public comment so I could get snarky comments from other readers. So congratulations, Susan Staffeld and Free Lunch, your comments have likely driven away a frequent reader of the Geek Mom blog. I’m sure the Geek Moms will thank you for your eloquent and generous response to what I initially hoped would be constructive criticism of a change to the way the Geek Mom blog (and many others) have decided to administer giveaways.

  5. I too would like to enter this giveaway but refuse to join FB or Twitter. Can you please open up contests to anyone who reads your blog?

  6. Hey, how do we see who won? I have never used rafflecopter before so I don’t know exactly how it works. Thanks!

  7. Helen, the winner’s name is now at the bottom of the post. A man named Lance J, entry #112, won. I got an email from the Goal Zero rep this morning and he said that Goal Zero products are now available in many local stores. There is a store finder on their website:
    http://www.goalzero.com/store-finder.html
They are great products and I highly recommend you try some.
    Thanks for reading!
