The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the perfect gift for new graduates and now you can win one from GeekMom! Whether they’re just heading off to college or finally on their own in the real world, this smartphone has all the features they’ll love.

It’s got a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for unique Dual Shoot possibilities. There’s also an Eraser Mode so you can chop out those photo bombs that ruin otherwise great pictures. You can even turn you photos into animated GIFs with the Animation Shot feature.

Adding to the many things a smartphone can now manage, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 can also work as a remote control through WatchOn. If you want to turn on the television or play a DVD, then there’s no need to search for a remote when you’ve got this in your pocket.

They will also be able to take advantage of Group Play to share music, photos, documents and games with their friends, all without needing to rely on Wi-Fi. It takes the social aspect of a smartphone to a whole new place.

Want to win a Samsung Galaxy S 4 on the carrier of your choice for your favorite new graduate? Just leave a comment telling us why you think your grad deserves to win and we will pick a winner at random after the contest ends on Monday, June 17th at Midnight EDT. Contest open to residents of the continental United States only.

Good luck!

***Congratulations to Charles B. who was the winner of this giveaway and thank you to everyone who entered!***

  1. My son just finished his Bachelor of Music Performance. He’s worked really hard for the last 4 years. Right now he’s deciding whether he wants to take a gap year before pushing on to grad school.

  2. I am the grad. Just finishing my transfer degree and moving on to a bachelors in science for physics. Really dependent on my calendar, tasks list, Google drive, Google now, and others. I would love to have all that on such a powerful phone in my pocket.

  3. My grad is extremely hard working and is just beginning a new job. This would help keep them ready for the business world.

  4. This would be for my gf : Carrying a ft course load while working ft. She has sacrificed alot. One sacrifice has been keep her outdated phone for almost 7 years! She needs an upgrade.

  5. My firstborn just graduated from high school and is launching into the Real World, preparing to go to college, and searching for a job to fund his college living expenses. His geek cred is extensive. He’s an avid cosplayer, loves Firefly and Doctor Who (and many other franchises), and is really into comics–Marvel, not DC. I’ve never bought my kids smartphones. At a time when all their friends have expensive iphones, they’ve had to stay with actual phones, with which they can only text and call. I’m fine with this, though they don’t like it at all. He’d love to have a smartphone to take into his new grownup life.

  6. I don’t know any grads this year, but I would love to get this for my husband. For years, we have used a cheap little pay as you go phone to save on monthly costs and mainly use it for emergencies. We rarely text (which is probably a good thing!) but it would be nice to have a reliable phone that we could take pictures of our 5 year old son as he goes into kindergarten this year and to have a phone where we would actually be able to get our messages on time (most of the time we only get our messages a week or two later). plus, Father’s Day is coming up and my husband just had his birthday so this would make a great and practical gift for him! You guys have the best giveaways!! 🙂

  7. I am the mom of a pre-school graduate!! It would be great for our family to have this beautiful phone for connectivity. It’s hard being a BROKE Geek Mom. Winning this phone upgrade would make so many things easier.

  8. I don’t have a grad, but I would love to be able to give this to my wife who has had a rough year or two, and could use a good cheer-me-up gift for our anniversary.

  9. As we’re giving serious thought to either my wife or I going back to school in the next year for our Masters degrees, we’re not exactly recent grads, but continuing students! Tools like this would make either of our lives easier and more organized to succeed in school!

  10. I would love and hope to win this for my daughter for graduating on June 5th, I myself am unable to work for health reasons. She has had so much on her shoulders at 18 she is supporting a household of four on top of going to school she would go directly to work. This is a lot of responsibility for an 18 year old and I would love to be able to give her something nice. She so deserves this 🙂

  11. I don’t’ know any grads either, but my husband is a teacher, and he would love this phone. He has worked hard in his career to be a great role mole for the students in his school!

  12. my grad is very important for me, because without him, I could not realize my future project and it is not easy at all, and take a lot of time and neccessite I’m always up to date in my area.

  13. While my grad just finished kindergarten, I still think this would be the perfect gift…..for me! He is constantly asking to borrow my phone to play, and if I had this, I could let him have my old phone as a gaming device! Win win!

  14. I don’t know any grads this year (well not any college or high school grads) I do have a kindergarten graduate. I wouldn’t be giving her this phone though. I would be giving her an old antiquated iphone3GS (without service) that would be relinquished from duty by the addition of this much needed upgrade! She would love that so much! She recently discovered that she wants to be an artist, and thanks to LadyAda of Adafruit Industries (when she did her Google Science Fair interview) my new kindergarten graduate knows that artists can be engineers, and beautiful, and amazing, she thinks engineers and artists are the same thing.

  15. My son would flip if I won this phone for him for graduation. With all the neat features, this one device is like the Swiss Army knife of smartphones.

  16. My younger brother just graduated BS Animation. He really loves to take photos and videos. His dream is to become a professional photographer and a cinema director. He spends his spare time learning how to capture wonderful photos by borrowing his friend’s camera. My heart bleeds every time he ask me to buy him a camera because i really can’t afford a DSLR camera. I think that Samsung Galaxy S4 is a good start for his career. He can practice to capture photos with the use of 13 megapixel camera of S4. Among with It would be the best graduation gift i can give to him.

Thank you so much for this opportunity!

  17. My daughter is head all the way across the US for school in the fall and I need her to be able to communicate with my. This phone would make things so much easier

  18. I just graduated from high school with an honors diploma and am moving three thousand miles across the country this next fall. Having a smart phone to keep in contact with all of my family and friends back home would make my life and communication much, much easier.

  19. My dad who is 76 old will be graduating from English school this June and I am so proud of him. Just goes to show you that you can never be too old to learn new things. I would love to win this for him for father’s day.

  20. My hubbie is graduating his companies engineering program and he would love a new phone as an upgrade!!

  21. I had never given my son a cellphone because I, myself, never had one since we have a land line. Didn’t really think a cellphone was necessary until now. Now that my son has graduated, moved out to live in the city and landed the job of his dreams, I feel that his Mom truly deserves one since she had worked so hard raising him to be the adult he is. I would love to win this for myself. 🙂

  22. No grads here (yet), but me or my hubby could definitely use it as he is using a S3 with a severely cracked screen. OK, I could use the new phone and he can have my S2. 🙂 Don’t want him to break the shiny new S4.

  23. My daughter just graduated, and I never got her a laptop. She used an old desktop at home when she visited, and school computers. I’ll be the greatest mom is she can upgrade from a burner phone to a smart phone!

  24. I’d love this for my husband. Seems like he’s never happy with his phones and he says this is way better than what either of us already have.

  25. I’m a grad from Jamaica and I am doing engineering as my field of choice. This phone would help me a lot in my field and I don’t want to be at a disadvantage in my course because frankly I’m the only girl, the only one straight from high school and the only one without a PC and this course is very technically based so this phone will also act as both a mini computer and a phone in my case. I also don’t want to put pressure on my parents cause they cover all my expenses, so thank you for your time.

  26. My daughter has really worked hard in order to go the prestige Cambridge university and well, I’m proud of her path which was not easy at all since my child did not wanted to continue her studies sue to personal reasons but she overcame the obstacle and finally shines with her new certificate in computing! Anyway, i do come from a middle class but had wish to gift my daughter a new mobile phone. As she do not own even one at all while other youngsters at her age has already a mobile phone… and i could remain in contact with her. 🙂

  27. My daughter just got into university for Bachelor of Law and she would be ecstatic to receive this it was getting into university and she felt as if she had let us down, so this would definitely boost her spirits

  28. I recently graduated in the top 8% of my class with a great honors achievement. My current phone is WELL outdated, and I’d love to have this phone for the next chapter of my life.

  29. My daughter has worked very hard throughout her high school years– and she has done so without a cell phone. I believe the Galaxy S4 would be the perfect grad present for her! She’s been asking for one and even got to test it out. Hopefully she’ll get one, here’s her chance!

  30. My sister should win because she has worked tirelessly to graduate at the top of her class– I’m so proud, she deserves it! 🙂

  31. My son is graduating from middle school! He has finally reached the age where I find him to be responsible enough for a phone of this caliber! I would love to present this to him as a token of my love as he moves on to greater heights.

  32. My grad is getting out of elementary school after decades in the classroom. My mom is finally out elementary school!

  33. Hi geek mom, my cousin is graduating and I would love to be able to win this phone for my cousin. He is graduating middle school in three days on June the 20th and I want to get him something real nice to show my congratulations to him because i want him to feel real happy on his graduation day for the great achievement that he made and I would love to be able to win this phone for him. It would be the best graduation gift to give to him. Thankyou for giving me a chance to try and win this and have a nice day.
