Illustrator and pop (culture) artist Rusty Shackles – whose “Great Comics That Never Happened” prints grace my own house – has recently shifted much of his attention to a new effort. His Insert Quarter-Bin Tumblr regularly features mash-ups of popular video game characters with the covers of iconic comic books.
This week’s new piece, “No Curaga for a Broken Heart,” places the cast of Final Fantasy VII in a parody of DC’s romance serial Girls’ Love Stories issue #148, originally drawn by Nick Cardy.
