Star Wars Saga Summarized in Pictures

The Star Wars Universe, as described in graphics by Murea

As Rod Stewart used to sing, every picture tells a story, don’t it? Graphic artist Murea took this to heart when creating infographics to tell a tale that spans six major motion pictures, an animated movie, and two novels. The Star Wars Saga, as described in images and flowcharts, covers George Lucas’ legacy from young Anakin to the End of the Empire.

Each of the nine sections of the infographic begins with the opening crawl text that is a signature of the films. Icons for each character follow a sequential flow showing how they interact, with special indicators of battles, deaths and locations. Galactic Standard Calendar dates are included, too, to put the story segments in context with each other.

In addition to the two movie trilogies, Murea incorporated plot lines from Shadows of the Empire — a Lucasfilm multimedia storytelling project that includes a 1997 book by Steve Perry — and The New Republic, taken from the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Genndy Tartakovsky’s 2008 Clone Wars also makes an appearance.

Murea has other artwork of interest to Geeks, including Lost, Spock, the Avengers and Kevin Smith movies. It’s worth a look.

  1. What’s interesting to me is how less complicated Eps IV-VI are when compared to Eps I-III. Less complicated, better stories IMO.
