Welcome to the sixth irregular installment of Random Geek Roundup! This is where I collect a variety of links and sites and products that have come across my virtual desk in recent days. Just because you’ve discovered a specific interesting tidbit doesn’t mean that everyone has. So in the spirit of sharing awesome, here is the next collection of links.

Amazing X-Wing Bed
A father built this quite spectacular and envy-producing X-Wing Fighter bed for his son. There is even a cockpit for the son in which to watch television, when he’s avoiding sleep. The wings even move. I can’t stop drooling.

Viking Infographic
Don’t know your Asgard from your Valhalla? This handy infographic will give you a beautiful, basic introduction to important Viking topics.

Augmented Reality Sandbox
What is that, you ask? Imagine playing in a sandbox that will superimpose a color topographic map over your hills and valleys. And it lets you add virtual water that will flow. Um, yeah. It is that cool. Check out the video.

Tree Spared Because it Looks Like Treebeard
A tree in China is spared being cut down because it looks like a notable tree from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Raspberry Pi Craft Heads to the Ocean
Someone plans to sail a (very) small ship across the Atlantic Ocean controlling it with a Raspberry Pi. Learn more at the link above!

Augmented Reality Cooking Simulator
Yet another augmented reality bit. This one will help you learn how to cook! It gives people a fairly authentic cooking experience while removing the pesky dangers such as getting burned or spilling oil.

You can also go back and look at the links from Roundup #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 for more interesting news and websites!
