Last year, the Star Trek band Five Year Mission wrote a song to wish George Takei a happy 75th birthday. Takei — a social media darling with huge followings on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest — thrilled band members last year by acknowledging the gesture. Whether or not Takei does so again this year, the song is a great tribute and worth a few more plays. FYM released the track as part of their Trouble With Tribbles album last fall, as a break from their five-album project to write a song for each of the original series episodes of Star Trek.
