There are many things Disney knows how to do well, and finding new ways to use old characters and plots is certainly prominent among them. This has rarely been more evident than in this weekend’s programming initiative on the Disney Channel, called “Freaky Freakend.”
As anyone who’s seen either of the Freaky Friday movies will guess, that means many of the shows will feature episodes in which characters will swap minds (or swap bodies, depending on your point of view). In particular, Gravity Falls — one of our favorite cartoon shows here on GeekDad — will have an episode tonight titled “Carpet Diem” in which Mabel and Dipper swap minds due to, yes, a carpet in a heretofore-hidden room in the Mystery Shack.
Other shows participating in the “Freaky Freakend” fun include another GeekDad favorite, Phineas and Ferb (in which episode Perry will also serve as Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s “wingman,” which I must see), A.N.T. Farm, Jessie, Austin & Ally, and Shake It Up.
