There’s a Top Gun reunion brewing — and Goose is back! Actually, it’s just Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer riding into the Danger Zone, as two of the characters in Disney’s Planes.

The studio just released its first sneak peek of the upcoming film, which features the two ex-Top Gun stars as, well… planes. Disney also recently announced the rest of the film’s voice cast, which includes Dane Cook as main character Dusty, as well as Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, Carlos Alazraqui, Priyanka Chopra, and Gabriel Iglesias.

Disney’s Planes is a spin-off of the Cars franchise and despite no mention of Pixar, there are definitely a few similarities. OK — a lot of them. Besides the animation and backing by John Lasseter, the film finds the aforementioned Dusty looking to become a racing champ. Sound like anyone your child has in his or her toy box? Take a peek at the video below and see what you think.

Disney’s Planes will land into 2D and 3D theaters on August 9, 2013.
