Great TedED talk by friend of GeekDad Bill Gurstelle (he of the Practical Pyromaniac and Backyard Ballistics fame), where he demonstrates in simple terms how to make fully-functional audio speakers from wire, magnets, and a few other pieces of household detritus. Looks like a blast of a project to try with the family!
