Last year, Knock Knock (a site that sells cheeky products) introduced the Clump-o-Lumps, a line of plush animals designed by Max Knecht that feature big chunky zippers. Each Clump-o-Lump separates into a head, torso, and rump, and you can mix and match them. (You can also do things like attaching a head directly to a rump, or chain together several torsos to create a monster centipede thing.

They sent me a couple samples to try out with my kids: Squid-o, Bird-o, and Shark-o, and we’ve all enjoyed them. The animals are pretty big: Squid-o is 30″ long including the legs. The surface is very soft and fleecy, and so far hasn’t seemed to pill up much even after a year. Squid-o is my favorite, with the little bumpy tentacles; Shark-o has some really funny rounded teeth; Bird-o’s tiny wings are probably just for show. When you unzip one, the inside is red with a white center, like bone and flesh, which is both funny and a bit gruesome.

There are six Clump-o-Lumps: tiger, shark, squid, bee, bird, and frog, and they sell for $25 each. It’s not a bad price, but you’ll probably want more than one. Although one Clump-o-Lump is nice, the fun grows exponentially when you add more, because of all the various combination possibilities. So it’s great that this week the Clump-o-Lumps are 50% off! Just use coupon code “HAPPYDAY” when you check out from the Clump-o-Lump store. (The code is good until April 9, and there’s free domestic shipping on orders of $35 or more until April 15!)
