Last week we introduced our first discussion topic, an opportunity for you to introduce an interesting way to talk about science and engineering at the dinner table. It’s an opportunity for you to explore and ponder possibilities with your kids, while having a little fun doing it. Last week we asked what would happen if the Earth just stopped rotating. This week’s topic is:

A raindrop can fall thousands of feet and gently land on you. A pebble of the same size, falling the same distance can do some real damage. What’s the difference? What about other objects, like a penny?

There is no single correct answer. Please report back with what you found out.
