Land Line Telephone? Check Out SwissVoice

Geek Culture

ePure HomephoneePure HomephoneMy wife and I decided a while back that since we had young children at home, we would keep our telephone land line. Recent polls show that we are in the minority on this. However, this keeps the other kids from calling our mobile phones and the kids are too young for mobile phones of their own. Besides, since we have “bundled” services, we would only save like $6 per month if we disconnected. Got to love Comcast!

Since our cordless handset died and we only have the one phone, we decided to spring for a really nice cordless handset. We picked up the ePure Home Phone by SwissVoice and we love it! It features a minimalist design (which I hear is all the craze) and it works extremely well. We had been using the same old handset for nearly thirteen years, so this new phone has made all the difference – in fact, we have started actually calling folks on that phone instead of our mobiles.

What is so great about it? The weight for one. It is a solid built unit. It feels substantial when you hold it to your ear and you can use your shoulder for an assist. I bet it has been a long time for many of you since you did that! The sound quality is really great also. The makes at SwissVoice have tons of data that shows how their handsets are of a superior quality, but much of it probably has to do with your signal quality also (your mileage may vary). The only regret that I have is that we did not spring for the answering machine version. Yes, we have the Comcast online voice mail; but it is not as convenient as having a message right there on file.

Since we loved the home unit by SwissVoice so much, we picked up their mobile compatible handset also.

ePure MobileePure MobileThe mobile version acts as a dock for your mobile device and offers the same build as the home version above. The biggest advantage is that you can have this elegant handset which will basically remotely activate your phone via Bluetooth. The ePure Mobile Bluetooth Station phone will also act as a speaker system and speaker phone connected to your mobile device. We put it to the test and we received a strong signal from at least 50 feet and through 5 walls. Once again, I highly recommend this unit as an addition to your home service and especially on an office desk.
