GeekMom Zombie Apocalypse Countdown (9 Days to Go)

My children are not the only people who believe this zombie thing is for real. There are some pretty extensive websites out there. Most have tips on surviving or tutorials on the most thorough way to kill a zombie for good (hint: double tap). Here are a few links, if you have the time to cruise through them. Don’t forget that December 22nd might be too late to check them out! There’s a good chance you won’t have the luxury of the internet (another good reason to buy the hard copy of a good zombie survival book).

The Huffington Post not only brings you the news and the latest gossip on your favorite celebrities, but they’ve also created a whole Zombie Apocalypse page. It’s full of pictures, articles and blog posts.

The Zombie Preparedness Initiative seems to have some helpful information. On their home page I found not only an article entitled Everything You Probably Need to Know About Shotguns, but a first aid article that reminds us to stock up on toilet paper. There’s a good chance it will become the currency of the future. Good to know.

Next click over to ZombiePrep.net. Another website full of great information. I found the article about surviving in warm climates vs. cold climates very helpful. I had been wondering if it would be worth leaving our mountain home for someplace warmer (or if our remote location would actually be safer). They’ve also posted a very thoughtful article about how having LASIK surgery might be your key to survival.

I”ll leave you with this priceless photo of GeekMom Jessamyn’s holiday cookie project. Who needs snowmen and tree shapes? She and her son opted for zombie cookies. Very clever indeed (and if you mess up the frosting, it just adds to the effect).
