Cthulhu Christmas Calendar for iOS, Free Today Only.

Have a very Cthulhu Christmas.

Nothing says “Christmas” like Cthulhu. They both start with ‘C’ and have a ‘t’ and an ‘h’ somewhere in them, right? So, why not start the holidays off with a shriek with the Cthulhu Christmas Calendar? Uncover a new horrific image each day, counting down the Yuletide. Today only, get the iOS (iPad, iPod, and iPhone) app free of charge.

The app features 25 original pieces of artwork. Each image presents a fun mashup of festive icons like Santa into the Cyclopean world of the great Cthulhu, the malevolent Mi-Go and the dark god Nyarlathotep. Each day, you not only reveal a new fiendish image, but get a trivia question from the Cthulhu Mythos. Answer it correctly, and you get a point.

This fun little app is the brain child of Red Wasp Design, the same people who created one of my favorite iOS apps, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land. If you haven’t played it yet, I can highly recommend that one, too.

Get the Cthulhu Christmas Calendar, free today only on iPad and iPod/iPhone. Tomorrow, the app will return to its normal price of $0.99/£0.69/€0.79 — still cheap, but not free.
