Just Dance Goes 5-Player on Wii U

Videogames

We’ve enjoyed Just Dance in our family ever since the release of the original game. Its easy drop-in drop-out multi-player dancing has been a great fit for us. As you can see in the video, the whole family gets involved while we play.

It’s been interesting to see how Ubisoft has tailored the experience to different consoles. While the PS3 Move version is essentially the Wii game with slightly more accurate controls using the PlayStation Eye camera, the Kinect game was more ambitious enabling, you to choreograph your own moves as well as offering a rare Kinect 4 player mode.

This innovation continues with the Wii U version of Just Dance 4, adding a Puppet Master mode where one player uses the tablet controller to pick moves and poses for the dancers to pull off with the Wii Remote. I like the sound of this, not only because of the interesting power dynamic of the kids instructing granny, mum and dad what to do, but also because it turns Just Dance into a five player game.

Just Dance 4 is available from Amazon from $39.99.
