The first trailer for the upcoming Iron Man 3, scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2013, has dropped, and it’s a heck of a ride. There are glimpses of the new villains, bits and pieces of the story, and at least as much action as you’d expect from a superhero movie trailer.
Take a look below. You’ll see Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, from the “Extremis” storyline by the awesome Warren Ellis, and Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. It’s interesting to note that, based on the hints of story the trailer reveals, it looks like Iron Man 3 is more of a sequel to The Avengers than to Iron Man 2 — which is probably a good thing, considering how much better a movie the former was than the latter. And it’s good to see that even someone as self-involved as Tony Stark can’t walk (or even fly) away from a battle as intense as that without psychological consequences, particularly considering his actions at its end. Even after some shawarma.
