If you’re a fan of the Street Fighter video game series, or other video games that got their start in the 1980s or 1990s, you have to watch tonight’s new episode of Gravity Falls. Because, if the clips I’ve seen (and which you can watch below) are any indication, it’s chock full of parodies and homages to many of them.

The episode sees Rumble McSkirmish, Dipper’s favorite playable fighter, come to life to defend him against Wendy’s boyfriend Robbie. The awesome part is that Rumble comes to life looking like, well, like a late-’80s or early-’90s video game character. He even eats like one, as you can see in the image above, and in the first clip. Of course, Dipper quickly loses control over Rumble, and then must prevent him from destroying Gravity Falls. You can see the mayhem Rumble causes in the second clip, with some possibly recognizable shout-outs to video games that I spent more of my childhood playing than I’d readily admit. (You did, too; admit it.) Rumble is voiced by Brian Bloom, who does tons of cartoon and video game voices, including Captain America on The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

This new episode of Gravity Falls, titled “Fight Fighters,” airs tonight from 9:30 – 10:00pm ET/PT on Disney Channel. Be sure to watch it… and DVR it for your kids if you’re feeling nice. The episode is preceded by a new science-fiction-y Phineas and Ferb at 9:00, titled “When Worlds Collide,” and a new Fish Hooks at 9:15 titled “Spiders Bite.”
