Last month I wrote about The Keep, an upcoming product targeted at board gamers who are tired of schlepping games around in giant plastic tubs and grocery sacks. It’s been custom-designed by a group of avid board gamers and has removable chambers for storing boards, cards, and bits. Well, if you like the idea, now’s the time to back the project: The Keep just launched on Kickstarter, and you can pre-order yourself one (or two or three!) for $200 each. There are a limited number available at $170, plus options for versions that are customized for Dominion, if that’s your game of choice. Or, for you gamers who like to press your luck, there’s a tier that lets you bet on whether they’ll meet their delivery date — if they don’t, you get two for the price of one.

Sure, it’s not cheap, but for the amount that you spend on board games, The Keep will let you carry them in style. (More importantly, it’ll let you carry them without all that empty box space and it’ll keep them organized.) If you regularly haul board games around, it’s worth your while to check it out. It’s clear that the folks at Grumpy Owl Gamery have put a lot of thought into how to pack in a lot of games without damaging them.

Visit their Kickstarter page for more details on the various reward levels and potential stretch goals. (Note that shipping isn’t included in all pledge levels, so you’ll want to take that into account.)
