Star Wars Comes to Scalextric This Fall

Geek Culture

Scalextric is one of the oldest, best-known slot car makers out there. Their tracks and cars have supplied hobbyists with fodder for decades and their devotion to detail has made even the most meticulous modelmaker mirthful.

Over the years, the company has produced tie-ins to television and movies like Knight Rider, Tim Burton’s Batman, and the Dukes of Hazzard. But this fall, Scalextric is journeying much further – to a galaxy far, far away. Early this fall, the company will release two Star Wars sets, one that depicts the speeder bike chase on Endor and another that features an X-wing and Vader’s TIE/x1 fighter in a glow-in-the-dark attack on the Death Star.

The Endor set will retail for $149 and the Death Star set for $99. With Scalextric’s speed and detail, both sets should be a blast!
