Nathan Jurevicius is an Australian illustrator and animator primarily known here in the States for his highly stylized Scarygirl graphic novel/video game. Recently digital accessory manufacturer Cygnett brought the world of Scarygirl to the iPhone 4S via a selection of stunningly designed limited edition cases from their ICON art series.

Each case – “Maybe’s Underwater House,” “Hootsville” and “Chihoohoo’s Tea Party” – boasts a vibrant, surreal design combined with a satin finish that feels good in-hand. All of the appropriate cutouts are there, of course, for easy access to volume control and unobstructed camera flash, and the low-profile design snaps on easily without adding a lot of additional bulk.

The cases themselves offer nothing in the way of screen coverage, though Cygnett does include a sheet of screen protection film which, while not exactly sturdy enough to withstand drop damage, at least provides some additional scratch protection. In fact, the only true issue is price.

All this goth-y goodness comes at a premium. Each Nathan Jurevicius Scarygirl case retails for $39.99, which ain’t exactly peanuts. Still, in a world of bland Otterboxes it most certainly adds a bit of flair to your beloved iPhone.
