Shotguns & Sorcery Fantasy Noir Series on Kickstarter – Ends Tonight!

Kickstarter People

Last December, author (and GeekDad contributor) Matt Forbeck announced he was writing twelve — yes, twelve — novels in 2012. He successfully Kickstarted his first three, a trilogy of books set in the world of his popular Brave New World RPG.

Now Matt is back with the second trilogy in his 12 for ’12 project, and it looks just as cool as — maybe even cooler than, if I can be totally honest — the first. Shotguns & Sorcery is a “fantasy noir” setting. Matt describes it as “Lord of the Rings written by Raymond Chandler.” C’mon! That is just too cool.

For a taste of what Shotguns & Sorcery has to offer, download the short story “Goblintown Justice” for free. It’s a rollicking good mystery set in a fantasy world where an ex-adventurer finds himself smack in the middle of a murder scene. He gets arrested and spends the rest of the story trying to clear his name and save the day.

I’ve been following Matt’s progress on Twitter and the guy has a killer work ethic. He’s met his goal of writing one 50,000 word novel each month for January and February, and told me he’s on target for March. There is no doubt that he can make it happen for another three months, but he needs our help and support to do so.

Right now, the Kickstarter is at around $7,500. Unless we bump it up to $8K, that means only one book gets written! The Kickstarter has raised $8,000, so Matt’s definitely writing two books. But if we want all three, the campaign needs to raise $10K. In addition, backers of the project get both the Shotguns & Sorcery trilogy and a free ebook set of the Brave New World trilogy.

So if you want to be a part of this awesome project, head over to Kickstarter right now to support Shotguns & Sorcery. And spread the word to your fantasy loving friends! But do it quickly, because the project is over tonight!
