A new Kinect Sports 2 Basketball activity was unveiled today as part of Microsoft’s $1M sponsorship of the Right to Play charity. The sponsorship will provide funds and technology for the charity’s 2012 program.
Right to Play is a worldwide charitable organization which aims to improve children’s lives in disadvantaged areas of the world using sport for “development, health and peace.” They hope to create a healthier and safer world.
At the London today Microsoft also unveiled their downloadable new sport for Kinect Sports Season 2 – Basketball. The game offers a point challenge where players shoot hoops from different areas of the court to earn points. It includes the Right to Play branding.
Although there has been previous downloadable content for Kinect Sports in the past, this is the first time it has added a new sporting activity. The DLC will be available to download for free for owners of Kinect Sports Season 2 on April 2nd.
Edit: Since this post was published we have been informed that the Kinect Sports 2 Basketball DLC will cost 400 MSP and include three different basketball activities. It will be available early April.
