Have Your Kids Enter the 2012 Doodle 4 Google Contest!

Geek Culture

Doodle 4 Google 2012Doodle 4 Google 2012This year’s Doodle 4 Google contest has the theme: “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…” This would be a difficult one for me, since I would have so many different answers to that question. Having studied so much history, I know of a lot of times and places from which to choose. But what about our kids? What periods of time have they learned about? Which ones intrigue them? What figures from the past would they be interested in meeting, or merely observing in action?

Get your kids involved in this year’s Doodle 4 Google and see what they come up with. Preregistration is no longer required as of this year, so head over to the website, print out some forms, and get your kids brainstorming!

As always, entries will be divided into five different age groups, spanning the K-12 entries. Judging is based on artistic merit, creativity, and how well they communicate the theme of the contest. Google is accepting Doodles between now and March 23, 2012. Online voting will occur May 2-10, with the winning entry being awarded a week later.

My kids love entering this contest, even though they have never won. Get your kids involved this year!
