The Hobbit Teaser Trailer is Here!

I’ve been a fan of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings since I was very small. My dad is a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, to the point that he actually wore out his hard cover copies of the trilogy. So one of my favorite memories is sitting on the edge of my dad’s chair as he read these wonderful stories to me.

When The Lord of the Rings came out, I saw each of the movies several times in the theater. It would get to the point that I wouldn’t have anyone to go with and would have to see them by myself. So, I’ve been following the progress of the films that will bring The Hobbit to the big screen.

The long wait has been worth it as the first teaser trailer was released tonight. The movie looks fantastic, but you can see for yourself below. The first poster has been also released tonight. Both of these things are making me so excited for this movie to come out. For all the fans of The Hobbit, it is going to be a long year until we get to see this book come to life. But at least we now have a trailer that we can watch as we wait.

  1. That’s just MEAN, releasing the trailer a SOLID YEAR before it’s in theaters! Ha ha!

The Two Towers was the first “date night” my husband and I had after our first son was born in 2002. And we went to a 10pm showing on opening night, when relatives were in town for Christmas, and baby Jacob had gone to bed.

But it was worth it! Despite being a very tired mother of a 3-month-old, I was wide awake for the whole thing!

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. I went to high school with an Arwen. Also, my son’s name is Sam (somehow, I can get away with that one without much comment, even with the same source).

To the main topic, it’s no secret I have the world’s WORST, HUGEST, MOST DEBILITATING infatuation with Martin Freeman. I also have a well-documented Thing for hobbits. This trailer just further proves that even if this movie should somehow turn out HORRIBLE– which is hardly likely, especially seeing the original trilogy is my favorite book adaptation of an already-favorite book ever– I will still watch this in a state of utter adorable bliss. FAINTING WITH JOY.

Also, I made a point of turning on the computer during breakfast during what is a typical getting-my-sleepyhead-preschooler-moving-on-a-schoolday JUST because I knew the trailer would be up today and I had to see it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

      1. If my daughter had been a son, her middle name would have been Sam. Her first name would have been Marcus, after the main character in the Gears of War video games.

Since I have a daughter, we just adopted an orange kitty who I named Sam-Wise 😀
