Kickstarter Project Reminder: Printrbot

If you’ve been considering purchasing a 3D printer, I’d like to remind you that the printrbot Kickstarter project is just about over. With less than 9 hours left at the time I write this post, the project’s creator, Brook Drumm, has managed to raise over $700,000 — and is quickly closing in on $800,000. He initially hoped for just 50 machines to be backed by supporters, but he’s now crossed 800+ machines and it’s continuing to grow as the deadline looms.

You can read my original post and interview with Brook, or you can visit the printrbot Kickstarter project directly and read more details. Believe me, with most hobbyist 3D printers running between $800 and $1500 these days, you can get it on the floor with a well-designed machine for only $499.00 and a community of backers that are sure to grow a collection of printrbot fan sites and support sites.
