Fans of geek icon and comedian Chris Hardwick know that he’s built a small empire of successful podcasts. From the original “Nerdist Podcast,” he’s branched out to add podcasts about gaming (“Indoor Kids”), writing (“Nerdist Writer’s Panel”), sex (“Sex Nerd Sandra”), careers (“Making It”), and more. The latest addition to the lineup is “Mike and Tom Eat Snacks,” an already beloved podcast starring comedian Michael Ian Black (Stella, The State) and actor Tom Cavanagh (Ed, Scrubs, um… Yogi Bear).
Black and Cavanagh started the MATES podcast earlier this year and immediately found an appreciative audience for their wildly improvised comedy riffs and their astute and surprisingly semi-serious views on snack foods. The Nerdist platform should bring more viewers (I know they’re not viewers) to this very funny, adult-ears-only podcast. I give that a rating of 10 out of 10.
