We couldn’t be more proud. Our own Senior Editor Jonathan Liu wrote his 5 Best Toys of All Time post back in January, as a post-holiday bit of humorous commentary on how some of the most basic things can be just as, or even more, fun thatnall the technologically advanced toys it’s possible to waste money on each Christmas. Somewhere between the following Thanksgiving and now, the story was picked up and made a viral sensation, striking a chord with readers all over.

But I think this latest facet of the post’s popularity launches it into another dimension of awesome. The folks at Radio Netherlands sent someone to visit Jonathan and record him reading his piece aloud for their Earth Beat Christmas Special. Jonathan reads it with all the whimsy and joy you’d expect, and the result (with some wonderful editing by the producers), is a holiday bedtime story for parents everywhere.

The recording isn’t embeddable, so you’ll have to go to the page where the podcast version is hosted. Skip to the 4:30 mark or so for the start of the segment, and then sit back with a cup of peppermint hot cocoa and enjoy!
