Jingle the Husky Pup Storybook and Story Buddy by Hallmark

What child hasn’t hoped for a puppy under their tree on Christmas morning? Well, just in case you’re worried that Santa won’t come through you can have Jingle the Husky Pup there as backup. He isn’t just a stuffed animal, though, he’s also an interactive toy that reacts as you or your child reads through his storybook. His first book, Jingle All the Way, tells the tale of how little Jingle, who has no home, befriends the neighborhood kids and finally finds a home of his own with a little help from a guy in a sleigh.

As you read, certain lines are printed in red and they trigger appropriate responses from Jingle.  He barks happily, whines when he’s sad and even sings. It didn’t take my kids long to figure out that the red words were the key and they began creating their own stories and inserting those lines where they wanted to make him perform on cue. Now they’ve got their own special Jingle stories and have big plans to write a bunch more.

You can purchase Jingle alone or with his first storybook and then add to the fun with his second book, A Snow Day for Jingle. In fact, there are a whole line of Jingle themed products available this holiday season and there’s even a movie airing on the Hallmark Channel on Friday, November 25th. And thanks to the good folks at Hallmark who provided me with Jingle for review, one of our readers will be winning a Jingle of their very own.

Simply leave a comment on this post by midnight on Thursday, November 24th, telling me what your favorite Hallmark ornament is and we’ll draw a random winner the following day.  Good luck!

    1. My grandmother collected all the Star Trek ornaments. My favorite is the Borg Cube. “We are the Borg. Enjoy your holidays. Resistance is futile.”

  1. Favourite ornament is a Jeep Wrangler. It was my first vehicle that I had to get rid of due to financial constraints, and growing up. Now I hang my little Jeep Wrangler each year.

  2. I missed out on the catwoman ornament way back in 2000 but I have one now. Love the old costume.

  3. I really wanted to get the Leg Lamp ornament from A Christmas Story for my husband but they were all sold out at our hallmark. It’s been my favorite ornament so far.

  4. We LOVE Jingle! Tannis, our real husky, wants to eat Jingle. He’s adorable, and his story is great. Can’t wait for the special. 🙂

  5. The Wizard of Oz ornaments are fantastic. In 1996 they had one of the Wizard’s red balloon, looks great on the tree.

  6. I like the tiny ornaments that go together as a set. Haven’t seen them in a while, though. Maybe it’s time to head to a Hallmark store.

  7. Every year my MIL buys a guitar related ornament for her son, they are always neat and creative! Our Christmas tree is guitar themed now because we have so many.

  8. I love whatever ornament my husband and I buy to commemorate a special occasion from the year. We have a Baby’s First Christmas one with little shoes from the year our son was born. This year, we’re buying a house since we bought our first home. Then we can live through some major memories as we decorate.

  9. Wow, favorite ornament…. I have quite a lot of Star Wars and my sister has most of the Star Trek issued before 2000, but my Mom has both of those collections in her Christmas collection. Since that time I haven’t purchased as many Hallmark ornaments. I do have a Jeep Wrangler, that I think my father gave me. It was the first car my husband and I bought together and it was the vehicle we married in. Although my Wrangler is a different year and color than the ornament (and yes I still have it!) I smile putting it on the tree, because it reminds me of all the wonderful trips we’ve taken in our Jeep these past 12 years.

  10. We have a plug-into-the-light-socket Star Trek TOS Galileo 7 shuttlecraft, whose windows light up, and if you press the button, Nimoy/Spock says “Shuttlecraft to Enterprise, shuttlecraft to Enterprise. Spock here. Happy holidays. Live long and prosper.”

It lives in its box and comes out only once or twice every season. (I just looked it up, and it’s from 1992!)

I don’t know what we’ll do when all the twinkle lights have been replaced with LEDs, though!

  11. Peanuts too, but especially snoopy. My favorite now is a small clip version from a few years ago of Snoopy and Woodstock making snow angels in a sparkly snow patch.

PS We are a U of Washington (Go Huskies!) home and would love to have a ‘husky’ under our tree!

  12. It’s sappy, but my favorite Hallmark ornament is the baby’s first Christmas one I bought for my daughter last year. 🙂

  13. I try to get one every year but my favorite so far is the clunky New House one. Got that the year we got married, moved to a new state and started family planning. Really symbolized a new life stage and commitment.

  14. I have always had a soft spot for the Peanuts ornaments, as well as the Superhero ones, but my favorite one is my Son’s First Christmas Winnie-the-Pooh one from last year.

  15. as ridiculous as it is, I have a “sewing bee” ornament from a Christmas in July exchange while I was working in summer stock as a costumer/dresser. All kinds of adorable for that.

I have other Hallmark – including their minis for a tree I kept in my dorm room – but that’s one of the few that means a lot to me.

  16. My personal favorites are the Star Trek ornaments, but I have really been wanting to buy my 3 year old the Living the Wild Life – Where the Wild Things ornament because it’s his favorite book.

  17. The Lionel Series of replica locomotive/train ornaments. This year’s is special because there’s a Pennsylvania RR caboose being offered. Each year they offer 3, I get all three: one for each of my boys (hubby + two sons).

  18. We love the It’s a Wonderful Life ornament.

My DS loves huskies so he’s so happy to see the new tv movie!
