FGTV Tests Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword

Electronics Family Gamer TV

This week’s Family Gamer TV episode takes a look at how well Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword are settling into their various gaming families. But before that, with the uDraw tablet about to be released in HD on the 360 and PlayStation 3 we put the Wii version through its family gaming paces, and find out what our graphic designer dad makes of it.

Once we’ve exhausted our creative sides we turn our attention to some upcoming releases. New Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS is looking like a family favorite, provided we can remember to turn off the 3D when our youngest plays it — much to his chagrin.

Zelda Skyward Sword causes a bit of a storm as our families get their heads round a second Zelda game on the same console (although some still argue that Twighlight Princess was a Gamecube game, you can see what we mean). With MotionPlus support and a more engaging story this is already up there with Ocarina of Time for us.

Finally, having enjoyed GoldenEye on the Wii last year, news of the Reloaded 360 and PS3 versions has this week’s gaming dad reminiscing about cartridges and golden guns.
