Oeuvre Showcases the Iconic Movie Art of Drew Struzan

People

If you have even a little love for the movies in you, then you’ve likely seen (and enjoyed) the work of Drew Struzan. The artist, who has created the art for more than 150 movie posters, has been called “my favorite movie artist” by no less than Steven Spielberg. From Harry Potter to Blade Runner to Star Wars to Back to the Future, and on and on, Struzan has created many of the iconic images that instantly enter your mind’s eye when you think about some of geekdom’s most popular movies.

Now, there’s a new book from Titan Books that celebrates the career of Drew Struzan. Packed with more than 300 pages of full-page artwork, commentary by Struzan and his wife Dylan, and a foreword by George Lucas, Drew Struzan: Oeuvre is a feast for the eyes. Flip through the pages and you’ll be treated to the artwork behind the logos and credits of movies like The Goonies, E.T., and Indiana Jones.

In all, there are 250 pieces of art from not only movies, but also stamps, trading cards, promotional artwork and some personal and original works. Oeuvre is a follow-up to The Art of Drew Struzan, also by Titan Books, which, to date, has sold out three printings. Where the previous book stuck to movie posters, Oeuvre examines the entire scope of Druzan’s career. So if you’re into movies at all, check out Drew Struzan: Oeuvre to find out why Lucas calls Struzan “The only collectible artist since World War 2.”
