The “Stormtrooper for Halloween” Video Challenge

Geek Culture

When I was a kid, I dressed up as a Star Wars character just about every year for Halloween. Even though my Chewbacca & Ben Kenobi costumes were pretty sweet, nothing beat the Stormtrooper getup that my parents made for me when I was 5 years old.

Because it meant so much to me, I wrote this song about it:

A Stormtrooper For Halloween by John Anealio

(You can download the song for free by clicking the Download button on the player above. If you’re reading this post in a feed reader, click here for the free download: A Stormtrooper For Halloween)

To celebrate Halloween this year, we here at GeekDad present you with the following challenge:

Create your own video for the Stormtrooper For Halloween song.

Just download the song and be as creative as possible. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Take some photos of you and your kids dressed as Star Wars characters, create a slide show and have the song run as the soundtrack.
  • Act out the lyrics of the song.
  • Create a Stop Motion Video using Star Wars figures or Star Wars LEGO mini figs.

When you are finished creating your masterpiece, post it to YouTube or Vimeo and send me an e-mail (27summers@gmail.com) so I can check it out. We’ll pick some of the best ones and run them during the week of October 31st.

Have fun and we can’t wait to see what you come up with.
