New Book Details 100 Years of Scouting Memorabilia

Geek Culture

The Boy Scouts have been around for more than a hundred years and over the past century a lot has changed for the organization. From patches and uniforms to first aid kits and camping gear, the BSA has evolved in lots of ways, if not others. To celebrate a centennial’s worth of Scout supplies and souvenirs, our friends over at DK Publishing have put together Boy Scouts of America Scout Stuff: A Centennial History of Scouting Memorabilia.

This veritable museum collection of BSA memorabilia is fascinating to read and – if you ever were in Scouting – you’re sure to see a mess kit, merit badge pamphlet or magazine cover you’ll recognize. The oversized book is packed with more than 200 pages of color photos, descriptions and history of the BSA. Plus, each book includes an exclusive collector’s patch that you can use for free admission to the National Scouting Museum (actual patch may differ from one seen in image). Boy Scouts of America Scout Stuff: A Centennial History of Scouting Memorabilia releases later this month.
