A mouse is a mouse, right? You use it to click on different parts of the screen; to click and drag or maybe line up a headshot. Well, as most serious computer gamers will tell you, not all mice are created equal. For my everyday use, I use a wireless Logitech that came with my keyboard. Recently, I took advantage of Steam’s free Portal download. This is a great game, but I noticed that my system – which has overkill in the requirements department – was sluggish when I needed to move. I had previously had such good luck with their Spectrum Xbox 360/PC headphones, so how could I go wrong? I like this mouse so much, I am going to tell you about it.
The Sensei mouse features three fully customizable illuminated areas on the mice and seven buttons (including the scroll wheel). It also features a state of the art laser sensor that offers a consistent and reliable performance. The SteelSeries Sensei boasts 10.8 megapixel HD image correlation at up to 12,000 frames per second and the ability to handle tracking movements of up to 150 inches per second. I do not know how that stacks up with other laser mice, but I know this mouse is precise.
Moreover, this mouse has its own processor! The processor in SteelSeries Sensei is a 32 bit ARM processor and it is as fast as the original Pentium 75 MHz processor released by Intel in 1994. This allows calculations directly in the mouse – without the need for software drivers and without having to rely on the user’s computer. All of the mouse’s advanced setting and user settings are calculated directly on the mouse, providing the user with a mouse movement that is completely free of any interpolation or extrapolation, without any delay, filtering and without using up memory or resources on the user’s computer. Just plug in the USB and you are set.
