If you’ve never seen Marian Call perform and you’re within a reasonable distance of Austin, Texas you really should get over to the Blackerby Violin Shop this evening. If you aren’t near enough to make it to Austin to see the show you can catch it on the web. Check below for the link.

Marian played two nights ago at Poor David’s Pub in Dallas. She was accompanied by Bryan Ray and they put on an awesome show. We got to hear most of my favorites, a couple new songs, and one I’d heard of, but but never seen performed live. Despite Bryan’s reluctance, Princess Cupcake was performed at the request of one of the many children that attended. It is now my favorite annoying song.

If you can make it to Austin, I highly recommend that you do, but if not, join me on the Blackerby Violin Shop’s website, or their live Ustream channel tonight at 7pm Central.

You can find out more about Marian Call at her website, MarianCall.com. She also answered some questions from the Dallas Observer where Darryl Smyers refers to Marian as an “odd duck” — a title that Marian was comfortable with. If you’d like to hear some of Bryan’s work, you can listen to a couple of his albums on his BandCamp page.
