Talk about a good summer GeekDad style project: The Greeley (Colorado) Tribune recently reported that a couple of local men built a 20 foot long pirate ship, complete with a ship’s wheel, Jolly Roger, a plank (for walking,) and cannon.
Shawn Vigil and his father, Jake Vigil, built the 13-foot-tall, 20-foot-long pirate ship, using mostly free materials they obtained through Craigslist and eBay. Shawn had wanted to build a pirate ship for his three kids for some time, so he enlisted his father, who lives in Johnstown, for help.
The cannon, made from paper mache wrapped around a PVC spud gun, seems like a particularly nice touch.
