Bots High – A Documentary

Joey Daoud, a documentary filmmaker, takes a close look at the violent side of high school robotics. His crew follows three high school robotics teams as they compete in the metal bending world of combat robotics.

Like myself, Joey recognizes that the US is falling behind on the engineering race. Bots High puts the spotlight on one of the many robotics programs that aim to solve this education problem. Hopefully films like this will get more people to seriously consider a career in science or engineering.

October 6th is free screening day for the film. Check the website for a free screening near you, or host your own for free. They also offer a fundraiser package for robotics teams looking to raise some cash for the upcoming season.

Check out the trailer after the jump.
