Browncoats: Redemption is a fan film that takes place in the Firefly universe. Proceeds from the DVD sales go to charity, making this project even more shiny.
There was a lot of build up for Browncoats: Redemption leading up to the world premiere of the movie at Dragon*Con 2010. The staff at Dragon*Con underestimated the appeal this movie was going to have. I got in line several hours before the film was suppose to be shown, and there was already a huge line. The line ended up spanning three floors of the Westin hotel and they added more chairs in the room in order to get as many people in as possible.
The movie was really well done for a fan film and it even had some cameos by the original cast like Adam Baldwin.
