The iTunes Store Has Kid TV Episodes Free and Full Seasons On Sale

Family GeekMom TV and Movies

The way my life is set up, I tend to only go to the iTunes store to look at apps. I buy them, I redeem codes for reviews for them, I research them. But with a couple of big trips coming up this summer, filling up my future iPad (arrival time: 3 more weeks) with parent-approved kid shows seemed like a great idea.

Now through April 12 (so hurry!), the iTunes Store is spotlighting some of the Kids and Family TV selections. Some of them are free, some have discounted full seasons. Shows from Nickelodeon, Disney, Sesame Street, and many others are represented in the sale. Some of the free episodes are from Curious George, Sesame Street, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and Super Why! There are also helpful ways to search for your favorites by browsing by age, network, or title. If you don’t find what you’re looking for by browsing, be sure to try the search box.

This is also a great time to indoctrinate your geeklings in the shows from your childhood. Schoolhouse Rock is one of my favorites, but they also have Peanuts, Bugs Bunny, Underdog, Tom & Jerry, etc. There is a good variety of shows available, and even the free section should have something for everyone. The availability of free episodes may even allow you to try out some shows you hadn’t considered for your kids before.

Episodes you download can be watched on your computer, with Apple TV, or on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod.

Note: I received some iTunes store credit to take advantage of a few of the TV shows that aren’t currently free. Super Friends FTW!
